Philippa Hird and Sir Robert Burgess have been appointed as members of the School Teachers’ Review Body and will be in post for 3 years. Peter Batley, who has already served 3 years as a member, has been reappointed to serve a further 3 years, following his successful application.
The STRB provides independent advice to the government on pay and conditions for teachers and school leaders in England and Wales.
Dr Patricia Rice, Chair of the STRB said:
I am delighted to welcome Philippa and Sir Robert to the review body and equally delighted that Peter will continue as a review body member. I am confident that all 3 members’ knowledge and experience will greatly benefit the review body in its important work in considering pay and conditions for teachers.
The appointment process was run in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments’ code of practice and was made on merit.
