About me: Cheerful greetings!

I am Nisha, originally from the States and now living in London. I am currently working in a year 5 classroom as a Teaching Assistant. I very much love my job, my favourite part is working in small support groups.

I specialise in Maths and English interventions with children that need additional support with the curriculum. I also do daily supported reading and have a phase 5 phonics group that I work with. I cherish the children I work with and try to encourage and nourish their self-esteem as well as build confidence in their learning.

I also have a background in Art Therapy which I routinely bring into my work – some children need alternative options on absorbing the material we present to them. I like to use my own creativity in helping them. I currently run a year 1 and 2 Art Club, the children love having this outlet for their imagination and it really helps in their learning. I make sure I am adaptable to each child’s needs, and have an arsenal of resources I bring into my lessons if necessary.

I look forward to having the opportunity to work with your family!

What I do when I am not tutoring: When I am not working with children, I try and do some of my favorite things. I love taking photos on my old cameras, going on scenic hikes and walks throughout the countryside, and visiting museums and galleries throughout London. I also love crafting – I am currently knitting socks for everyone in my family! I also enjoy needlepoint, crochet, and sewing. I love spending time with my family and friends, and traveling.
